Norfolk Island Holiday Cottages

Norfolk Island Holiday Cottages

Norfolk Island is growing in popularity as an iconic Australian holiday destination. Between the stunning scenery, rich culture, adventure experiences, and close proximity to Australia’s mainland- it really is the perfect escape. While Norfolk Island is small, there is a wide range of accommodation options to choose from, which is great, but it can make it difficult for you to decide where to stay. Some of the most popular accommodation styles are little self-contained cottages that suit both small parties and larger groups. This allows you to do things at your own pace and have fun cooking a few meals at home with the beautiful local produce. In light of this, here are some of our favorite Norfolk Island Holiday Cottages.

Anson Bay Lodge

Anson Bay Lodge is just a short 10-minute drive from Norfolk’s main shopping area, making for a convenient little place to stay. The lodge is set on 1 ½ acre of the tropical garden near Captain Cook’s monument, the National Park, and, of course, the beautiful Anson Bay beach. There are 5 different accommodation options to choose from at the lodge, coming in the form of a one-bedroom cottage, two-bedroom unit, and three-bedroom house. Each room is self-contained with comfortable beds, a lounge area, and a flat-screen TV.

Christian’s of Bucks Point

Christian’s of Bucks Point is Norfolk Island’s award-winning luxury cottage; a beautifully restored home built in 1914 by a direct descendant of Bounty Mutineer, Fletcher Christian. The property is situated on two acres of land that has enviable views of Ball Bay and Phillip Island, along with being only a short drive away from the town center of Kingston. Christian’s of Bucks Point has three private bedrooms and bathrooms, making it ideal for large groups of up to six, or even a luxury romantic escape for two. Other features include electric blankets, hairdryers, a BOSE theatre sound system, satellite TV, Xbox, and even a hire car. For those who might need to do a bit of work while on holiday, the cottage even has a computer, internet, fax, and photocopier.

Poinciana Cottages

Poinciana Cottages are the ultimate peaceful retreat on Norfolk Island. Located down a country road on the edge of town, Poinciana Cottages have a unique view that combines valley and mountain scenery as well as leafy tropical garden views. There are 5 different self-contained cottages to choose from which each have their own balcony and carport, offering complete privacy. In terms of location, the cottages are close to shops, cafes, restaurants and amenities, making it so easy to walk or drive to all your daily activities. The cottages also have a range of extras that can be purchased including heaters, electric blankets, picnic blankets, wine coolers, BBQ facilities, eskies, umbrellas and more.

Whispering Pines Cottages

The Whispering Pines Cottages give the true Norfolk Island Holiday experience, with the entire property overlooking slopes and valleys covered in Norfolk’s iconic pines. While the Whispering Pines Cottages aren’t located close to the Island’s central shopping village, this accommodation is perfect for those seeking a rural escape. These two-bedroom apartments are perfect for small families or groups of friends, each room being fully self-contained so that you don’t feel the need to go into town for every meal.

A-Frame Chalets @ Mokutu

Finally, the A-Frame Chalets @ Mokutu are a range of boutique one and two-bedroom cottages that offer dual mountain and ocean views from every apartment. The property is close to Kingston’s best beaches, the golf course, and a range of cafes and restaurants, making it easy to plan last-minute activities. When it comes to the rooms, each cottage has comfortable beds, a separate kitchen, living and dining area, an outdoor setting, and access to amenities such as the café, garden, and pool.
